Chicago StoryStudio is taking reservations for their autumn writers’ workshop – a don’t miss it event. This top-notch organization holds affordable weekend retreats for writers a couple of times annually, and they sell out quickly.  This one is three days of writing, workshopping, reading and socializing and a chance for you to immerse yourself in an inspirational writing setting, they tell me.

The Fifth Annual StoryStudio Retreat’s workshop sessions will focus on honing your craft and getting deeper into your characters and stories. They’ll be time to work on writing prompts, share your work in a peer review, and choose between a fiction, poetry, or a creative non-fiction focus.

The dates are Friday, October 16 to Sunday, October 18, 2009. the fee includes:

• All activities Friday-Sunday
• All writing sessions and three classes

• Admission to the 12-hour Write-a-Thon
